I had asked him to pick this up because Coffee!  Candy!  But, when the package arrived I said to myself, &#8220;Hmmm.  Sumiyaki.  That sounds familiar.&#8221; Indeed it was, for I had done a <a href=\"https:\/\/quirkspace.com\/jsfr\/?p=275\">coffee candy<\/a> earlier.  It was&#8230;adequate.<\/p>\n<p>Kasugai makes these coffee candies and while they smell nicely coffeelicious and they have a keen sort of trapezoidalish packaging, the taste is a bit lacking.  It is definitely a strong coffee taste but it&#8217;s also a burnt coffee taste.  You Starbuck&#8217;s patrons might not even notice it, but for the rest of us the burnt is a bit dissatisfying.  I&#8217;d say that these are slightly better coffee candies than the previous candies, but they still aren&#8217;t a delicious coffee treat in hard candy form.<\/p>\n<p>Kasugai&#8217;s Sumiyaki Coffee Candy is a smoother and slightly better candy but it&#8217;s not something my Guinea Pigs or I would necessarily come back to after trying once.  If I gave quarter pea points, I&#8217;d give an extra quarter pea to Kasugai but I don&#8217;t and this isn&#8217;t a three point candy.
