\nWelcome to December, Junkies, and a whole new list of snacks. A “J-List” of snacks as it were for today starts the showcase month for J-List. Oh I have so<\/em> many delightful (I hope) snacks to share with you over the coming weekends that I’m doing a small happy squee snacks dance as I type. I might also be a little hopped up on sugar because these fellas are without a doubt, sweet.<\/p>\n

We’ve seen the Meltys (Melties?) before in framboise<\/a> flavor, milk<\/a> flavor, cacao<\/a> flavor, and strawberry<\/a> flavor. And now, I present Dark Rum.<\/p>\n

Can I get a yum? Because wow the Meltys do not disappoint. Dark Rum starts like every other Melty; cutely square with a dusting of bitter cocoa over a wonderfully melty semi-sweet truffle like chocolate. In this case, as the name suggests, the truffleesque flavoring is Dark Rum. It’s a very well done dark rum too, so much so that the Guinea Pig who normally does not care for rum rather liked the taste of these.<\/p>\n

Of course the Guinea Pig who loves both Rum and Chocolate and was having an exceedingly bad day made off with quite a few of these little fellas. It helped brighten her outlook or at least sooth the pain of the workday away with its yummy rummy chocolaty goodness. How’s that for a testimony?<\/p>\n

The only thing that I can think of that would have made these even better is if the cocoa dusting had been a tad heavier. There wasn’t as nice a contrast between the bitter cocoa and the sweet-sweet truffle as there could have been (see the Meltyblend of yore, which did have a substantially dustier truffle square). Still, they are nicely done treats all individually wrapped up in a handsome purple wrapper. I noticed that the box is less fancy and has no inner printing but it does have little embossed snowflakes on the package. Six of one I guess.<\/p>\n

All of my Pigs seemed to enjoy the Dark Rum Meltykiss, even my non-rum Pig so I see no reason why Dark Rum can’t get the same rating as most of the other Meltys.<\/p>\n

As an extra added bonus, Snack Love has gone and done a review<\/a> of Meltykiss Dark Rum. I think the Pigs and I liked it a bit better than she did but we may be more booze houndy than she is.<\/p>\n
