\nMy mom is going to love this review because Men’s Pocky is her absolute favorite Pocky ever. She’s probably aslo going to hate this review because Winter Pocky<\/a> is going to have a higher rating than Men’s Pocky at the end of this review. What can I say? Winter Pocky is like Men’s Pocky but better.<\/p>\n

A while back I reviewed Toppo (for men)<\/a> and explained that the Japanese have a cultural thing wherein it is not perceived as manly to be eating sweets. At least that’s what they tell me. There are a couple work arounds to that though and one of them is to have a sweet that isn’t so very sweet. Enter the “For the Men” snacks.<\/p>\n

Like the Toppo, Men’s Pocky has a bitter dark chocolate goo. There’s enough sweet so that your mouth doesn’t pucker up, pop off and shuffle off somewhere more taste friendly but just barely. The goo reminds me of the 60%\/70%\/99 and 44\/100 % cacao chocolate bars that are out and around except I like the Pocky goo better. Somehow they manage to get that dark, dark, dark<\/b> chocolate taste yet still have a pliable melt in your mouth coating. Brav-o!<\/p>\n

Do I need to go into the stick? It’s the same grahamesque stick (the vanilla-ish flavor) that it usually is with the delightful crunchity and tasty graham-y flavor. Mmmm.<\/p>\n

I would like to point out the flowery packaging. For men. Heh. Maybe Japanese men are secure in their flowery manhood, who knows but it still makes me giggle. In a manly way of course.<\/p>\n

Since I didn’t have Men’s Pocky reviewed back when I did Toppo for men but as of today I (obviously) have both of them on board, I can now do a proper compare and contrast. Both have the nice dark chocolate goo and a crunchity stick but I have to agree with my mom about the goo on the outside. Somehow that’s a taster application, or perhaps Pocky’s slightly softer goo is a taster goo. However the dice land, they will do so with slightly more pea points for the Pocky than the Toppo. Did that sentence even make any sense? Well anyway I’m going to give Men’s Bitter Chocolate Pocky a <\/p>\n
