We had a nice soggy three day weekend here, but we got a stack of wedding stuff done… My Fiancee and her mom did some test-baking of cookies for table favors, while I prepared about a hundred pages of parchment for use as invitations.
It was great being able to work up at the future mom-in-law’s place. I didn’t have any of my home-grown distractions to draw my attention away from the project, and we had a lovely cookout afterwards. We managed to just barely avoid the downpour…
After some work on Monday, the invitations are pretty much ready to mail out. If I only had envelopes to put them in… Still, those are on order from Paper Direct and should arrive in the next day or two.
I’ve found a really handy bit of Macintosh shareware to help with the envelope printing too… It’s called SnailMail. It takes addresses from the built-in MacOS X Address Book application and prints them on envelopes. You can use standard envelope sizes, or define your own. Plus, you can print an entire list of addresses just by adding them to a group in the Address Book and then printing that group… Very handy. And as an added bonus, we can just swap the locations of the Address and the Return Address fields and print the same list on smaller envelopes for the RSVP cards.
