A little something for the arachnophillic They Might Be Giants fans out there, of whom I know none. I think arachnophobic ones are much easier to find.
My fiancee spotted this little greenish critter and hung it on the porch.. It promptly froze in place, doubtless terrified from having its web strand suddenly lifted high into the sky by a powerful giant with motivations and thoughts far beyond the comprehension of a tiny critter-brain. Either that or it was posing for the camera.
Anyway, it sat there rather patiently as I shot about a dozen pictures of it clambering around on my porch railing. I could have gotten more, but my camera batteries were making feeble protesting sounds, to the point where I missed a photo opportunity later on in the evening when the “I”-cat was sitting in a laundry basket. The best part was the way he was visibly ticking off Vandy by usurping her position as “the cute one.”
And on the drive in this morning I remembered that I have spare batteries now, dammit. If I’d remembered that last night, you’d be looking at a picture of a cute cat rather than a glistening, semi-transparent, eight legged creature…
Ah well.
