You know, I’m pretty sure I left my sunglasses sitting on the top of the dresser in the bedroom. I put them there because I’d left them in a shirt pocket, a bad habit that has more than once resulted in my shades going for a ride through the washing machine. They were in my shirt pocket because I was worried that they’d get folded in half in my coat pocket when I took my coat off, and I’d tucked them in the coat pocket absent-mindedly when I meant to put them back in the sunglass holder in the car. Where they’re supposed to be so that I can find them when driving…
Hopefully, today won’t be as bright and sunny as yesterday.
I can’t believe I’m hoping for sodden, miserable weather.
We had it in spades on Saturday. Snow fell most of the day. It was odd stuff too, not the normal hexoganal flakes or the big fluffy popcorn bunches, but tiny thread-like needles of of ice that covered everything with a fuzzy layer of coldness. No idea what conditions produce snow like that. It was like someone in the snowflake production department had missed the whole, “Six sided crystals, no two flakes alike” memo. Either that or someone ‘way up high was happily banging bits of asbestos together and letting the carcinogens fall where they may.
Jeez, I’m Captain Cheerful this morning…
Part of it may be that I’m a bit sore from jumping back on the workout wagon last night. Nothing like trying to get back into shape to make you realize how much out of shape you’ve gotten… On the other hand, someone posted a link to the Hacker’s Diet somewhere (I can’t remember where), and it’s a fun read. The author is the founder of AutoCAD and he has very little patience for trendy diet fads or hyper-glamorization of dieting. In fact, the subtitle of his book is “How to lose weight and hair through stress and poor nutrition.” I’m thinking I’ll give it a try.
