OmniGraffle

I’ve been testing some really cool software at work. It’s got a sort of goofy name… “OmniGraffle“… but it’s really quite remarkable.

It’s a really fast charting program with some stupendous built-in alignment tools. We’re probably going to be using it to plot out web site structures for clients, but it’s got all sorts of graphical goodness…

It took me about fifteen minutes to do this quick network diagram, and plotting out flowcharts for research procedures is just as quick…

It’s also got templates and artwork for laying out offices, plotting gardens, doing quick maps… All sorts of stuff. And it exports in dozens of formats including vector EPS and PDF, so it plays nice with lots of publishing programs.

The program is MacOS X only, and you may not need what it does, but if you’re curious there’s a 24 hour free demo that you can download from the company’s site that you can play around with.
