It’s gonna be a long short week.

For the next couple of days it’s just going to be me and my boss in the office. Kinda like it used to be years ago… Of course, the workload is much higher now than it used to be then, but that’s ok. I mean, it’s all done with computers, right?

I just finished up a trio of posters and sent them off for proofing. They’ll be printed tomorrow, and the authors will be taking them away to far off, exotic lands where they will be hung alongside a couple dozen other posters in an air-conditioned lecture hall. Meanwhile the authors will spend a lot of time wandering from seminar to seminar, air-conditioned classroom to air-conditioned classroom, learning new and interesting ways to cure the sick and heal the injured. Then they’ll all go home, and none of them will have a chance to enjoy the marvelous scenery and fascinating culture of the far off exotic land where they’re holding the convention.

Of course, I suppose the conference would have plenty of free time if was being held someplace boring like… I dunno… Idaho? You can bet there’d be huge swathes of empty time for the attendees to go and… Um… Do whatever it is they do with their free time in Idaho. Not to rip too much on Idaho. I’m sure it’s a very nice state, but it’s got a certain public perception problem.. It’s just not the first destination that springs to mind when thinking of an exciting vacation wonderland.

Anyway, things are hopping around the office. We’ve got a stack of jobs in, and more arriving. We’re shorthanded until Friday, and I’m cranking things out as quickly as I can, but there’s still a backlog starting to show up. I’m going to stick to my guns though, and try to update daily, but there may be a few more cute animal pictures showing up…
