Just an “ouch!” moment from the last paragraph of this CNN article:
Wisconsin is one of the few battleground states that has gained jobs since Bush took office. The unemployment rate is up nearly a percentage point, but Labor Department records show a gain of 200 jobs since January 2001.
So, in the past three and a half years, Wisconsin has gained 200 jobs. According to Wisconsin.gov, between 2000 and 2003 the state’s population went up by roughly 127,000.
So that means that there are around 126,800 more unemployed people in Wisconsin than there were before Bush’s tenure began.
In a slightly saner universe, I think that paragraph might belong higher up in the article…
