Should I be worried that most of my comment spam from the last few days seems to be coming from machines in the .mil domain? I can’t think of any valid reason that someone in the armed forces would want me to go to some of the sites that I’ve blacklisted, but I guess it could be a very strange recruitment program…
What’s much more likely, and much more worrisome, is that someone is using these computers to post comments via remote control. And the idea of someone having remote control access to a military computer is a bit worrying, even if they’re only using it to flood my comments with advertisements.
So. Anyone out there know who I ought to contact about this? I did a Google search and came up dry. If someone can let me know if there’s a .mil sysadmin who investigates these sort of thigns, I’ll gladly forward them the relevant bits of my access and error logs. Even if all it’ll show is that someone from X machine tried to post here at Y time, it’ll still let them know which “X” machines are being used as zombies…
