Ok, now this is strange… Almost exactly a year ago, I was talking about some found-sound music that I’d stumbled across, and now I’m listening to another batch of the similar. In this case, it’s remixes and songs from video games, all available for download from OverClocked ReMix.
I have to admit that I don’t know half of the games they have remixes from. I’m just not that much of a console gamer. Still, there are some arcade classics and gems from my youth there too. The variations on the Tetris theme, for example, are some of my favorites.
And again, listening to it I’m tempted to try my hand at doing some remixes of my own. In my copious free time, of course.
I wonder if I can work something up combining video game samples and some of the old ’78 RPM and Edison wax cylinder stuff I found earlier….
