Drove on down through the rain and fog. No snow. Just rain and fog. Not much rain either, apart from some little spritzy misty stuff just barely on the rainy side of the line dividing rain from fog.
The cats made the journey in a pretty standard fashion. Vande wandered around from window to window until she found one with a view she liked, then sat back and watched the other cars. Isaak whined and meowed for twenty minutes until my Wife stuffed a tranq pill into his mouth and held it shut until he swallowed. This kept him fairly quiet until after lunch, when he got cranky again, and was rewarded with his second pill of the trip.
He’s still tripping out a bit from that second pill. He stares at stationary objects with half-lidded eyes for a couple minutes, then turns and runs away in terror for a few steps, at which point he forgets what he was doing and stops. He’s also having a bit of difficulty telling where he stops and where objects near him start.
For example, just a few minutes ago he started out cleaning himself, and then moved on seamlessly to licking the coffee table. He’s been doing that for about thirty seconds. I fully expect him to move on to the floor and then the sofa, at which point he’ll stare at the television with half-lidded eyes for a couple minutes, then turn and run away in terror. For a couple of steps.
Wash, run, repeat until sober. He’s a barrel of fun when he’s like this.
