Cooked up stir-fry tonight with some wonderful sweet Yakatori soy sauce that my folks got us for Christmas. It was part of a collection of Japanese stuff they got at an auction. It’s really, really tasty.. And unfortunately it’s not going to be easy to get any more of it.
I’m going to have to start checking for it at the local Asian grocery stores. Toughest part of it is going to be trying to identify it on the shelves. The Japanese packaging has absolutely no English on it (which is kind of the “duh” news of the century), and that means no handy names or mnemonics to wedge it in my head for easy recall. Plus a lot of the stuff at local places have packaging designed for the U.S. market.
We discovered that with my Wife’s weekly snack review… Every so often we run into something we’ve tried before but in a totally different wrapper.
