Scott Kurtz (of PVP Online fame) just posted about a utility called Teleport that he was recently turned-on to. I ran across this software gem a while ago and forgot about it, but it’s really cool and needs more publicity. Basically, if you’ve got two macs, this lets you link them up over a network so that you can just move the mouse from one screen to another, controlling both computers with a single mouse & keyboard.
There’s a bunch of folks in the comments there who are really passionate about a similar Windows & *nix and cross-platform utility called Synergy. I agree that it’s a nifty concept, but the configuration and documentation for Synergy is kind of obtuse. Especially compared to how well Teleport is done. It takes perhaps two minutes to set up, and it works absolutely seamlessly.
