I’m kind of bummed. I’ve lost a really cool pair of sunglasses that I got a few years ago at a gaming convention. They were big, round-lensed safety glasses with dark green lenses and leather side shields. They kind of reminded me of something that Thomas Dolby might have worn in a music video or something. I’d gotten them from the fine folks at Studo Foglio… And yes, I’ve checked their online store. They have similar items, but nothing that can be worn over top of prescription glasses.

Hey all, short and late entry today. Our DSL has been acting funky at the house. Basically the AirPort station is claiming it can’t find the PPPoE server, which is ridiculous. I mean, it’s right over there! Jeez… Some computers…

Anyway, that’s about it. I’ll try to be more interesting tomorrow, but it’ll probably be some stuff about PhpWiki, which I’m totally geeking about.

So, I’m working with some MPEG-2 compressed video clips that need re-editing. Fortunately, Apple has a Quicktime component for dealing with that compression. Unfortunately, that component seems to have stopped working for people as of sometime yesterday. There’s a fairly simple workaround though… Just reset the date for the system to any day before the 15th of December.

We’re in a very comfy hotel in Columbus. The Drury Hotel right next door to the convention center. They’ve got free high-speed internet in the rooms, so I’ve got the airport hub hooked up, and with the two P’books and the iBook, we’ve got three of us able to surf and search. Well, my Fiancee and I are going to be spending the weekend on the road, running up to my folks’ place in the U.P. and helping out at the camp for the weekend. Blogging will, obviously, be a bit spotty. On the other hand, I’ll probably have a whole bunch of good photos when I come back.

Well, I’m mostly recovered from the weekend cold. I still feel like everything is hidden behind about two inches of expanded foam insulation. On the plus side, I’m not sweating buckets, my cough has tapered off to nearly nothing, and I’ve decided that a DayQuil and tonic is better than a gin and Alka-Seltzer.

Ok, I’m joking about that last one. I’m not quite to the point of making mixed drinks out of things that will simultaneously cause and cure hangovers.

No entry yesterday. I was just too darn tired by the time I was done with the weekend projects. On the other hand, if I can keep up the level of activity that I had on Sunday, I won’t feel as if I’ve fallen too far off my workout schedule.
