Dessert Pocky (tiramisu)
Surprise Junkies! Bet you didn’t see this coming. Me either but I have been having a chocolate cake thing all day long and then around about noon when I wrote the date I said to myself, “11-11? Hey! That’s Pocky Day!” So of course I had to stop by My Second Favorite Asian Grocery Store and pick up some Pocky.
I still have no chocolate cake but Tiramisu Dessert Pocky is doing a pretty good job filling the cake gap. First off, it’s Dessert Pocky so it has double the delicious Pocky goo. The stick is dipped once in a sweet, creamy white chocolate-esque goo and then drizzled with a coffeelicious quasi-dark chocolate goo. I thought there may be a faint chemical taste way up in the sinuses but the more of this Pocky I eat, the more I begin to doubt myself. I asked My Favorite Guinea Pig to verify the taste and he thinks it is probably the coffee liqueur flavoring that is getting up in my sinuses. He blames the sorbitol.
Pea points to Glico for nailing tiramisu so nicely with this Pocky. The flavor has all the basic tiramisu elements plus it’s Pocky so you get the tasty crunchity (vanillaish) stick. It even smells pleasantly chocolate, creamy and coffee liqueurish. There’s no substitute for honest to goodness real tiramisu but if you are in a hurry or don’t want to make a mess, Dessert Pocky (tiramisu) will absolutely kibosh your nosh for a piece of tiramisu. Or in my case, chocolate cake.
