Corn Bacon Pretz
And now, JSFR Junkies, it’s time to bring August to a close. Good news (every time you do your dishes) though, I have at least five more snacks bought from Hua Xing which I did not get to but have photographed and will write up at a later time. Right now, it looks like I’ll be showcasing snack haunts until 2009 even if I double up on the small snack stops. I hadn’t realized that I get my JSF fix at so many locations! Plus, there’s the excess snacks…I might not miss a JSFR week in quite some time to come.
This weekend was a Badmovie Guinea Pig dream weekend because it was all about the Pretz and all about the bacon. I’m talking corn bacon. Why am I talking corn bacon exactly? Where does Glico come up with its flavor ideas? Corn bacon? Fortunately for these Pretz, the corn is much subtler than the last time it showed up in a Pretz. The bacon is also not as BACON DANGIT as yesterday’s Bacon Cheese Pretz. Both of these facts work in Corn Bacon Pretz’s favor.
There is corn though, don’t let me mislead you. It’s a strangely popcorn tasting corn (with a nice buttery accompaniment) which is far better than a pretzelesque cream corn snack. It is also has a nice ham salty and, of course, the delicious Pretz crunchity. There was far less artificial bacon to Corn Bacon Pretz and as we munched on both, we decided we liked the Corn Bacon flavor better than the Bacon Cheese flavor. All of us that is, except the cat. I think he was eating with his nose and not his taste buds though because Corn Bacon does not smell nearly as AMAZINGLY BACON as the Bacon Cheese Pretz did.
Rating of 4 wasabi peas out of a possible 5 wasabi peas.

This does sound pleasant and not overwhelming. And the snack food surplus is good news!

Of the two bacon Pretzes, I thought this one was tastier. However, there was a third Pretz we took over to my mom’s house which was even tastier and it had no bacon in it whatsoever. Mmmmmmm. Maybe I just like Pretz.
Hopefully the snack food surplus won’t turn into snack food expirey-date-reached-plus. I’ve had that happen on more than one occasion and it kinda sucks lots.
