KitKat (matcha)

Posted in 4.0 Wasabi Pea Rating, Grean Tea, KitKat, Sweet at 12:52 am by Boo

One of the Web assistants came back from spring break with a Green Tea (Matcha) KitKat for me. Sahweet. So I decided to take a bit of a break (heh) from the J-List extravaganza to try out some green tea KitKat. By the way, I’ve added a “KitKat” category because it seems KitKat is the new Pocky so I thought I’d give y’all a new category button to click.

Back a bit I reviewed Green Tea Milk KitKat, which was basically green tea, sweet, KitKat crunchy with a white chocolate smoothness. This Green Tea KitKat is similar except it’s a lot more hard core Green Tea. It has a nice matcha bite to it and not a lot of milky white chocolate to smooth it out and for whatever reason it didn’t seem as sweet. Perhaps the bitter green tea cut some of the sweet. Speaking of green tea, this KitKat got it right. I’m not a big Green Tea lover but I could certainly appreciate the nice Green Tea-y-ness (I made up that word) it had going for it.

I took a hop over to Snack Love and I think this is a similar green tea beast. Meanwhile, the Japanese Snack Reviews has exactly this KitKat reviewed. They both seem to like KitKat (matcha) and my Guinea pigs were pleased as well so I think I shall go with a

Rating of 4 wasabi peas out of a possible 5 wasabi peas.

I really think the key to good green tea sweets is often matching just the right level of bitterness and sweetness. In my experience, it’s often a little too much of one or the other, but this got it right.

Thanks for linking to me! 🙂 I have added your review to my list of people who also reviewed this bar.

I really really like this Green Tea flavoured Kit Kat. I think it really matches well with the chocolate flavour. And gosh, i found it quite addictive too. =]
