Natury Berry Hachimitsu

Posted in 3.5 Wasabi Pea Rating, Caramel/Taffy, Sweet at 12:07 am by Boo

It seems as if Hiller’s is revamping their Japanese food section, for look what I discovered: Natury! Heh. Natury. Of course I picked up a package or two and then, because I feel bad that you junkies have been left hanging all June, I took it with me on vacation. This is why the Powerbook looks so odd; it’s actually my new machine pulling snack food studio duty. Sadly, my new machine is not yet equipped to wrestle the pics into an acceptable JSFR format so I am once again post dating but not by much this time.

Also? New machine wrocks with the whole two finger scroll deelie. It makes going back to the old machine kinda painful but because you junkies are used to the old machine as the studio backdrop I shall continue using the old machine in this capacity.

Onward! I had a plethora of Guinea Pigs to choose from this trip out since we were at a gaming convention and I was snack fooding in the lobby of the hotel. However, Natury doesn’t come with a large bundle of snacks to share so only four or five Guinea Pigs got to partake of the snack. I’d estimate that there were about 7ish pieces of Natury and for 2-3 bucks per package (I forget exactly) that’s not a good deal at all. Boo on Natury.

Berry Natury is primarily cranberry and it smells nicely cranberry tart. Mmmm. You might ask what exactly a Natury is, perhaps even noticing that I stuck it in the “taffy/caramel” section and that is because Natury is sort of taffy-esque kind of. It is also a little nougaty and deliciously tart. Cranberry awesomely tart with a nice accompaniment of generic berry. Most of my Guinea Pigs enjoyed the flavor quite a bit but at the same time they were puzzled by the texture. I’m not sure they were down with taffy/nougat/something or perhaps they were still trying to figure it out. It’s not bad, just unexpected.

I’m a little grumpy about the cost to quantity ratio of Natury so I can’t quite agree to a 4 pea rating. Most of the Pigs thought 3.5 – 4 was reasonable and again, if I did quarter peas this would be a 3.75 snacks. I don’t, so think of Natury Berry Hachimitsu as a 4 pea snack that just missed the mark.

Rating of 3.5 wasabi peas out of a possible 5 wasabi peas.

Definitely a 4 pea snack, taste-wise. I didn’t realize that you got so few cute little cubes in the pack, though. Boo on Natury for that, indeed.

Hmm. Is there anything preventing you from using the old laptop as a backdrop for pictures, but then processing the pictures and writing the reviews on the new one?

Kevin: I’ve gone back to Hiller’s and Natury goes for $2. That’s a bit pricey, but not as bad as I had remembered. Still, I’d be more comfortable with $1 to $1.50 for the 8ish blobs of candy.

Sean: I only took the new computer on vacation so new computer was all I had. I usually do use the old computer for a backdrop and then do most of the everything else on the new one. We have yet to actually put my graphic processing program on the new ‘puter so I’m still doing that with the old one but that’s more ‘cuz we’re lazy than ‘cuz we can’t.
