I Mei Dark Choco Tarts
Mmmmm…dark choco tarts. These are nice thick chocolaty crispy cookies with a blobbit of almond frosting/white chocolate goo and little crumbles of almond on top of that. That’s a lot going on and it’s all delicious.
The cookie bit is a hefty thing and deliciously chocolate. If you’ve ever had Famous wafers this is the same chocolaty taste. It’s also delightfully crispity. Yum. The almond frosting/chocolate blobbit is less almondy than I would expect for being almond but if you think about it there is a pleasant almond. And sweet, but not overly so. The bitty bits of almond on the top don’t add much and are kind of dry but they don’t detract from the cookie.
I’d definitely buy these again just to munch on because yum!

Yum~! Why can’t I find all the tasty foods you do in my Asian grocery store? WHY!?

Ho Bailey! We are fortunate in that we have the awesome Hua Xing which is the grand daddy of all shopping places ever (except probably a respectably established Chinatown and that one place out in Seattle). The other stores are…well…adequate but not as interesting. And these fellas were pretty darned tasty.
