Royal Family Green Tea Mochi
We’re back with a more traditional style mochi this week in the form of Green Tea mochi from Royal Family. As I’ve said previously, I’m not a big fan of green tea but…wow. These are kinda tasty. They are lacking the usual grass clipping taste that I have come to associate with green tea confections. Instead they taste more like a glass of tasty, mild green tea. Except moodgi in that mochi rice paste kind of way.
Actually, they are really kinda squidgy…moreso than any other mochi I’ve tasted. They are also pretty rice floury which gives them a fuzzy plushy feel in combination with the squishy rice pastry wrapping. Strange.
The inner paste is nicely sweet and pleasantly green teaish. And of course the pretty green cupcake wrappers wrapping the pretty green mochi. Nice. Most of the Guinea Pigs enjoyed the mochi and several said they would buy these again. One of the several might have even been me. Woah!
